I hate the taste of burnt coffee. I used to keep my coffee warm in a carafe on a heating plate. Through constant heating, I usually end up with coffee with traces of burnt taste in them. When my last coffee maker broke down, I decided to get a thermal carafe coffee maker and I have never had the horrid taste in my coffee again! With this coffee machine, the sixth cup of coffee taste the same as the first!

Fairly Easy to Maintain
The Zojirushi EC-BD15BA Fresh Brew is fairly easy to maintain. No need for any special items to clean the lime that would produce over time. To fight this, all you need to do is to run an equal mixture of water and white vinegar through the coffee maker. As for its exterior, you will only need to wipe it down with a soft, damp rag. As for the filter, run it through with warm soapy water and rinse it well. To clean the narrow and slim carafe neck, use a long bottle brush to help you scrub the inside of the carafe.
If you are using paper filters, damp the filters before putting it in. It should fit well afterwards. Make sure that it is also wedge until the bottom of the filter basket. This coffee maker was meant to be used with either #4 paper filters or a #4 gold filter. However, as it turns out, the #4 filters are too big for it. A slight glitch in description?
For better tasting coffee, it is best to use bottled water with this coffee maker so that you will get better tasting coffee. Plus, it is better to use bottled water than normal hard water that could leave residues on the insides of the coffee maker.
To bring the taste of your coffee up a notch, grind your beans as finely as you can. It will ensure that you’ll get the strongest and most exquisite taste from your favorite coffee beans. Also, don’t be stingy about the amount of grind to use!
Small Annoyance
For those in a hurry, the pour spout may annoy you during those times. The spout pours a bit slow if you do not align the lid and the dot on the spout properly. Do this and you will get to pour your coffee out smoothly.
