Unlike many single serving coffee machines, the Keurig B-40 B40 Elite Gourmet Single-Cup Home-Brewing System, despite its fancy name, is really easy to use. All you have to do is insert a K-Cup and press a cup size of your choice, no hassle. I didn’t even have to refer to the instructor manual the first time I used it.
This coffee maker, like all other Keurig brand single serving coffee makers, uses K-Cups. K-Cups are great because it eliminates the need to ground the coffee beans. It also comes it many types and flavours, giving the user a wide range of options. The only bad thing about this is that K-Cups are quite expensive when bought without a sale. However, I purchased the K-Cup Reusable Coffee Filter which allows me to use my own coffee beans, so I don’t have to buy K-Cups so often.
The machine makes great coffee as well. The scent of coffee fills the air with a rich aroma. Once, I brought it to my restaurant and many customers complimented and ordered coffee. I am planning on getting another one but maybe a higher end model for my restaurant.
Like most coffee makers, the Keurig B-40 B40 Elite Gourmet Single-Cup Home-Brewing System comes with a timer function which is really great and an auto shut down function. It also comes with a one year limited warranty. One thing to note is that this model cannot be repaired. If the machine breaks down during the warranty period, Keurig will replace it with a new one.
One of the few things I think that can be improved is the noise. It makes loud noises when brewing. I read that the higher end models are quieter, but I cannot confirm that the reservoir is also quite small, only capable of filling 6-8 cups. It also only has 2 cup sizes.
All in all, I think the Keurig B-40 B40 Elite Gourmet Single-Cup Home-Brewing System is a great machine to get for those on a tight budget. I highly recommend this for everyone.
