The Black & Decker DLX1050W 12-Cup Programmable Coffeemaker is a wonderful coffee maker. Not only is it cheap, priced at $30, it also makes great coffee. This programmable machine comes with a soft-touch control panel and has an easy to read digital display. It’s small in size, so it won’t hog up a lot of space.

Black & Decker DLX1050W 12-Cup Programmable Coffeemaker
It comes with a function that only newer coffee makers come with; a timer. Although many may say this function is not that useful, I find myself using it every day. I set it every night so that the coffee brews and is ready by the time I wake up. The scent of coffee filling the air as I wake up every day is an experience I no longer am comfortable without. In addition, it has a 2-hour auto shutdown system. This really helps a lot as I will not have to worry about whether I turned off the coffee maker during busy days.
The Black & Decker DLX1050W 12-Cup Programmable Coffeemaker is also very easy to program. Its control panel uses a 1 button 1 function system, which is easier to understand. I didn’t even have to read the manual the first time I used it. What’s more, this coffee maker makes coffee fast, taking only around 10-15 minutes. My previous coffee maker costs a lot more and brews coffee a lot longer as well. My restaurant customers no longer complain about having to wait too long for their coffee.
It also comes with a Sneak-A-Cup function which is really useful. You can stop the brewing process midway and pour yourself a cup if you really need it. Some of my customers are really busy and are impatient when waiting for their coffee. This function has solved this problem for me.
This coffee maker comes in two colors; white and black. I have both the white and the black machine. I use the white one for personal use and the latter for my restaurant. I noticed that for the white machine, it’s quite hard to look at the measuring line of the carafe, but this is just a small matter.
Another thing I noticed is that if the carafe and the filter unit aren’t lined up properly, the coffee may spill. The only thing I find lacking in this machine is the length of the cord. It’s very short, meaning I have to place it near a power socket.
As a conclusion, the pros definitely outweigh the cons. I strongly recommend this Black & Decker DLX1050W 12-Cup Programmable Coffeemaker to all coffee lovers like myself.

The Keurig B-40 B40 Elite Gourmet Single-Cup Home-Brewing System is a 1500 Watts-single serving coffee maker. Measuring 13-1/4 by 10 by 13 inches, it is the most affordable Keurig kitchen brewing system.

Keurig B-40 B40 Elite Gourmet Single-Cup Home-Brewing System
Unlike many single serving coffee machines, the Keurig B-40 B40 Elite Gourmet Single-Cup Home-Brewing System, despite its fancy name, is really easy to use. All you have to do is insert a K-Cup and press a cup size of your choice, no hassle. I didn’t even have to refer to the instructor manual the first time I used it.
This coffee maker, like all other Keurig brand single serving coffee makers, uses K-Cups. K-Cups are great because it eliminates the need to ground the coffee beans. It also comes it many types and flavours, giving the user a wide range of options. The only bad thing about this is that K-Cups are quite expensive when bought without a sale. However, I purchased the K-Cup Reusable Coffee Filter which allows me to use my own coffee beans, so I don’t have to buy K-Cups so often.
The machine makes great coffee as well. The scent of coffee fills the air with a rich aroma. Once, I brought it to my restaurant and many customers complimented and ordered coffee. I am planning on getting another one but maybe a higher end model for my restaurant.
Like most coffee makers, the Keurig B-40 B40 Elite Gourmet Single-Cup Home-Brewing System comes with a timer function which is really great and an auto shut down function. It also comes with a one year limited warranty. One thing to note is that this model cannot be repaired. If the machine breaks down during the warranty period, Keurig will replace it with a new one.
One of the few things I think that can be improved is the noise. It makes loud noises when brewing. I read that the higher end models are quieter, but I cannot confirm that the reservoir is also quite small, only capable of filling 6-8 cups. It also only has 2 cup sizes.
All in all, I think the Keurig B-40 B40 Elite Gourmet Single-Cup Home-Brewing System is a great machine to get for those on a tight budget. I highly recommend this for everyone.

The Mr. Coffee Programmable Coffeemaker is a coffee maker measuring 9 by 6/1-2 by 10-1/2 inches. Its small size makes it easy to place and does not take up much space on the kitchen counter. It brews up to 4 cups of coffee a time, which is really suitable for those who are the only coffee drinker in the house.

Mr. Coffee Programmable Coffeemakers
This coffee maker is also the only 4-cup coffee maker that comes with a timer function. The timer function can be set 24 hours in advance. I originally didn’t think I would use this feature but as time passed, I find it really neat as I can program the coffee maker the night before to brew my coffee so that it is ready the moment I wake up. Who doesn’t love the waking up to the aroma of freshly brewed coffee?
What’s more, the machine doesn’t make any messes. It has a wide sprout which is drip free. It also comes with a removable filter cup that allows easy cleaning. The customer service is also really helpful and friendly. My first unit was a little defective, so I called them up. After running some troubleshooting procedure, they sent me a new model after 1 week! Now, I will seriously consider Mr. Coffee products before others.
Mr. Coffee Programmable Coffeemaker comes with a pause function. This allows you to drink a cup of coffee while midway brewing. This is quite a useful function. Sometimes in my restaurant, some customers are in a real hurry and would like their coffee fast. They no longer have to wait for the coffee maker to finish brewing as I can get a cup for them while it is brewing.
However, there are some things about the Mr. Coffee Programmable Coffeemaker that I feel could be improved. The brewing process is really slow, which is why the pause-brew function is really helpful. It also makes quite noisy sounds which sometimes I find annoying initially. After some time, I got used to it. Then again, for the price of less than $20, you can’t complain that much. After all, it is one of the cheapest 4-cup coffee makers out there.
In conclusion, I highly recommend this Mr. Coffee 4-Cup Programmable Coffeemaker to casual coffee drinkers. It’s cheap, comes with a 1 year limited warranty, easy to clean, makes decent coffee and has many useful functions. What else could you ask for?

Nothing beats a great cup of Joe to kick-start your day. When your best coffee maker is well cleaned and free of debris and residue before and after using it will, you will surely get great coffee every time. On the other hand, a poorly maintained coffee maker will badly affect the flavor and creaminess of the coffee.
If you think that cleaning your coffee maker every time you use it is a trouble, try cleaning it at least once a week. All you need for this are vinegar, a dish sponge and a dish rag.
Step 1:
Vinegar is widely used to substitute detergent and other cleaning solutions in many households around the world. For the purpose of cleaning your best coffee maker, make a cleaning solution that consists of 1 part vinegar and 2 parts water.
You can also use other common household items to make your cleaning solution:
- dissolve two denture tablets in a pot full of water in a separate container. Do not do this in the coffee maker’s water reservoir as cleaning out undissolved tablets will be a hassle.
- with four cups of hot water, dissolve 1oz. of citric acid before adding four cups of cold water.
Step 2:
Soak the pot with the mixture for about 15 – 30 minutes. In the mean time, do what I always do; rub the body of my coffee maker and the heating element with vinegar.
Step 3:
Pour a full pot of the vinegar and water mixture in the best coffee maker’s reservoir and turn on the coffee maker. Let the mixture run a full cycle – the vinegar-water solution will help clean any debris inside the coffee maker.
Step 4:
After the machine has run a full cycle, switch off the coffee maker and let it cool down for at least 15 minutes. Drain and rinse the pot and filter basket. You may find some old coffee beans, residue, oils, and minerals built up when you rinsing everything off.
Step 5:
Refill your best coffee maker with the vinegar-water mixture and repeat the cycle, followed by allowing the coffee machine to cool down and the draining and rinsing of the pot. By repeating, you can be sure that your coffee maker is cleaned thoroughly.
Step 6:
Once you have finish the second cycle, put in a pot-full of water to rinse all the vinegar out. You may do this for two times if you think that you would have vinegar-tinted coffee if you don’t. Do remember to not use cold water in a hot coffee pot. This will cause the glass pot to crack and even shatter.
If you’re not the kind who cleans out your coffee maker on a regular basis, you may want to run another full cycle with another full pot of the vinegar and water solution before rinsing it our with water.
This is how you clean your best coffee maker with ordinary household items. Of course, there are those cleaning detergents made specially for coffee makers, so it’s up to you on what you feel comfortable using.
It’s best for you to go through this cleaning regime with your best coffee maker on a weekly basis. Keeping your best coffee maker will make it endure a long service to you and never fails to produce your coffee to taste the best that it can possibly be.

My name is John and I am a self-proclaimed coffee addict.
I have drank coffee as long as I can remember that my best coffee makers have an auto-start feature so that I can have my coffee when I wake up in the morning and when I reach the office. And as long as I can remember, almost every one (including the intern I had last year) warned me of the adverse effects of coffee on my health.
But is it really?
Researchers have recently found that even though there are the long known downsides, coffee do have some positive effects if you refrain from having too much sugar and cream with your coffee.
Here are some reasons to put your best coffee maker into good use:
A boost of happiness
Daily coffee drinking will help elevate your mood according to a John Hopkins study. It will add to your overall happiness because dopamine is pumped into your bloodstream. However, do limit your intake to two cups per day as too much coffee will put you at risk for higher anxiety.
Be cancer free
Studies at Harvard Medical School have found that coffee drinkers are 50% less probably to develop cancer. This has been proven for breast, prostate, rectal and colon cancers.
Antioxidant galore
Coffee has never been gloried for the amount of antioxidants it has. Why would it? Other sources like tea and berries contains more antioxidants in a single serving than coffee does. However, these are not consumed as frequently as coffee is – according to an American study, coffee is the number one source for antioxidant in an American diet. A moderate amount of coffee daily is just what is needed to fight all the free radicals that can cause damages in your body.
Protect your brain
I don’t know about you but I really need my morning cuppa to help jolt my brain. Well, apparently, a daily dose of java can help you sharpen your brain, especially its memory functions. A study has shown that coffee drinkers have shorter reaction time and can fare better short-term memory functions. It has also been said to lower the risk of developing dementia and Alzheimer’s disease. A 20 years Swedish study showed that those who drinks 3-5 cups of coffee daily would be 65% less likely to develop any memory lapses as compared to people who doesn’t take coffee.
Battle Type II diabetes
There is no clear conclusion yet but there are several researches that suggest that coffee drinkers are unlikely to develop Type II diabetes. Of course, coffee that has been laced with sugar and creamer may not help you with keeping you from being diabetic.
These are some of the benefits of drinking coffee. So you see, your best coffee maker doesn’t necessarily have to go into retirement; you just have to practice moderation with your coffee intake and also the sweeteners that you drink with them. Coffee is not widely known for its health benefits as they are limited and a better understanding of its benefits are unlikely to be identified soon as researches are few and far in between. However, it seems like it’s on a good start.

With the best coffee maker, you can practically make any kind of coffee drinks you want in a whim. However, if you only drink black coffee and feel like having the floor swallow you up when you hear “grande caramel soy latte,” you may want to read on.
There are many varieties of drinks you can make from normal black coffee. Here are some of the popular ones:
Espresso is made from darkly roasted beans. The beans are finely grounded before hot water is forced through under pressure to produce a 1 to 2 ounce of drink that has a thick consistency. It is also common for espresso to be blended with milk or hot water.
Caffe latte or cafe au lait is espresso with steamed milk. It consists of one third espresso and two thirds steamed milk. Although it has a milder taste, some people prefer to have their caffe latte to be flavored with syrups like caramel or hazelnut.
A cappuccino is made up of one third espresso, one third steamed milk and one third foamed milk. So basically, it’s a caffe latte topped with foam. A cold version is called cappuccino freddo. Another variant is the dry cappuccino which is a regular cappuccino but without the steamed milk and small amount of foam.
A caffe macchiato is probably one of the most debatable form of coffee-based drinks in terms of how it is made. Essentially, a caffe macchiato consists of one shot of espresso that is dribbled into a glass to ‘stain’ (macchiato literally means ‘to stain’) the steamed/ chilled milk. Of course, there is a variety of ways of making a macchiato depending on where you are.
A diluted version of the espresso is the Americano. It is prepared by adding hot water to espresso, giving it the same strength to but a different taste from your regular drip coffee. The name came about as an insult to the Americans who the Europeans believed were not to keen on drinking full shots of espressos.
Mocha is quite popular with the ladies (and kids!) because it’s cafe latte added with chocolate (in the form of chocolate syrup or chocolate/ cocoa powder). It can either be dark or milk chocolate. It is often served with whip cream on top.
Served in a small cup, flat white is prepared with creamy steamed milk poured from the bottom of the jug over a single shot of espresso. The ‘flat’, non-frothy texture of the drink is achieved by holding the lighter froth on the top layer of the milk back in order to let the milk at the bottom of the jug mix with the espresso to reach its smooth and velvety texture.
Affogato is a favorite desert for coffee lovers. Originated from Italy, a typical affogato is made by drowning a scoop of vanilla gelato with a single shot of espresso. The espresso should be poured right before serving so that there will not have too much melted gelato (or ice cream, which is a popular substitute) and should taste bittersweet. You can have it with other flavors of gelato or ice cream but personally, I think vanilla is the best.
